Brief Introduction of CRCFDI
 

  With a long history of education and research on FDI, University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) has opened courses on FDI and participated in relative policy making since China began the implementation of reform and opening up. UIBE set up relevant institutions in 1986 for research on FDI, TNC theories and relative policy issues. In 1991, UIBE, State Council Research Office, Development Research Center of the State Council and MOFTEC jointly held “The First Seminar on Chinese Enterprises’ Transnational Operation”. In 1993, UIBE, MOFTEC and UNCTAD jointly held “The First International Seminar on Transnational Companies to Invest in China”. In 1997, UIBE and Montclair State University jointly held “International Business with China: International Seminar on Opportunities and Challenges”. The success of there seminars promoted the development of China’s utilization of foreign investment and China’s overseas investment. By years of effort, UIBE’s status and influences in the field of on FDI and TNC has been established. On the basis of past research and teaching, CRCFDI was formally founded in 1997.The FDI Research Center was named a university-level key research base in 2009

  Subjects that are studied by this centre are as follows: FDI theory and policy, management and strategies of transnational corporations, international investment treaties and agreements, international taxation, investment environment analysis and decision-making, China's utilization of foreign investment, Chinese overseas direct investment, growth of Chinese multinational corporations, overseas investment strategy and multinational operation, etc. In addition to research on the above subjects, CRCFDI also provides relative courses and lectures for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctors. Since its establishment, CRCFDI has published a series of scientific research achievements and undertaken a number of national, provincial or ministerial research projects.
