Director of CRCFDI gave a reception to Hong Shijie           On April 22nd, 2010, Professor Lu Jinyong, Director of CRCFDI, received the visit of Hong Shijie (Jeffrey Horwitz), Deputy Director of the U.S. Embassy Economic Section, and Liu Jing, Economic Department official. Hong Shijie is the Deputy Director for Policy Analysis of U.S. Embassy Economic Department. The main task of this visit was to discuss and consult with Professor Lu Jinyong about the post-crisis situation for utilization of foreign investment in China and the recent issued documentary "Opinions on Further Improving the Utilization of Foreign Investment" released by the State Council. During the Discussion, deputy director Hong Shijie asked about the views of Professor Lu Jinyong on the following issues: the background and essential spirit of the recently issued documentary "Opinions" by the State Council, the overall judgments about China's utilization of foreign investment in the post-crisis era, the purpose and progress of accelerating the establishment of the security review system of foreign M & A, the relationship between safety review system and access to markets and industries, the equal treatment for both domestic and foreign companies, the impact of strictly limiting "high energy consumption, high pollution and high resource-intensive products" investment, the policy implications of "preferred funding election based on conditions of ourselves". In addition, the two sides also agreed that a symposium would be conducted about the influencing factors and changes of China's investment environment in the near future.
