On November 15th,2017, Liu Ande （Drew Lebkuecher）, economic officer of the U.S. Embassy Economic Section, and Wang Xiaojuan, Economic expert of the U.S. Embassy Economic Section paid a visit to CRCFDI. Professor Lu Jinyong, Director of CRCFDI, Li Xiaoyong and GuoLingwei, secretaries of CRCFDI received their visit in the office, and had an informal discussion with them. The main task of this visit was to consult the situation of investments abroad of China in recent years, especially the investments to “the Belt and Road” countries. Director Lu Jinyong discussed with them, and answered the following questions they came up with: reasons of the rapid increase of China’s investments abroad in recent years, reasons of moderate regulation since the end of last year and the latest development situation, the characteristics and trends of China’s investments to “the Belt and Road” countries, the scale and trend of “the Belt and Road” countries' investments to China, comments on President Trump’s visit to China, opinions towards the development prospect of the Sino-US economic and trade relations.
