讲座题目：The Local, Spillover and Aggregate Government Transfer Multipliers

讲座摘要：We estimate the aggregate causal effect of government transfers on personal income, identifying exogenous changes in transfers using federally legislated social security cost-of-living adjustments between 1952 and 1975. We further decompose this aggregate effect into its local and spillover components. Each effect is measured as a multiplier: the unit change in personal income to a one unit change in transfers. Our impact aggregate multiplier estimate equals 0.74. This indicates a less than one-for-one effect of transfers on income. Nearly all of the stimulating effect is local, i.e., the effect of own-state transfers on own-state income, whereas the spillover effect is close to zero or negative.

讲座人简介：李戎，中国人民大学财政金融学院教授、博士生导师，美国俄亥俄州立大学经济学博士，入选国家级人才计划“青年拔尖人才”，中国计算机学会计算经济学专业组执行委员。主要研究领域为财政与货币政策、环境与宏观经济、深度学习与计算经济学。主持国家自然科学基金2项，成果发表于American Journal of Agricultural Economics, European Economic Review, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking,《经济学季刊》,《中国工业经济》等期刊。
