讲座题目:Exploring A Development Momentum of the Belt and Road Initiative: A close nexus of influence and cooperation

讲座摘要:Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, its impacts in the world are envisaged in the variety of fields in a multi-dimensional way, including global supply chains, international logistics and transportation. Owing to continuous emerging variants of the COVID, it is uncertain to designate specific beginning year of the post-COVID-19. Consequently, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects has been halted for a certain period and their implementation progress is tardy. In addition, China that initiated it in 2013 has been facing challenges in the economic, socio and demographic structural changes. Having considered the above, this paper attempts to explore a new development direction and momentum of the BRI in the transitional period toward the post-COVID-19 era from the Chinese perspective, by proposing research agenda in, among others, global supply chains, transportation focusing on shipping and railway, international logistics including humanitarian logistics, and regional economic development. Each research agenda is addressed with its motivation, significance, and applicable and representative methods.
