讲座题目：Return Migration and Spatial Development
讲座摘要：The phenomenon of return migration is common and significant across the world, yet it remains under-studied due to the lack of data. In this paper, we examine the patterns of return migration within the context of China, leveraging a novel dataset （CHFS2019） that provide detailed information on both emigration and return migration. Our empirical findings reveal that roughly 60% of cross-prefecture migrants have returned to their hometowns, with family-related concerns being the predominant motivation. We then build a general equilibrium model that endogenizes the decision to ``return'' and quantify the aggregate and distributional welfare implications of return migration.

张弛，山东大学助理教授，博士毕业于新加坡国立大学，主要研究领域为国际贸易、城市经济学、人口流动和经济发展。现主持山东省青年自科项目一项，一篇论文于Canadian Journal of Economics待刊。
