国际经济贸易学院叶梓秋助理教授与纽约大学瓦格纳公共事务学院、纽约大学阿布扎比分校John C. Ham教授和新加坡国立大学Julian Wright教授的合作论文“The dramatic rise of the new society journals in economics”于2025年6月在国际权威期刊 The Economic Journal 接收发表。

We produce updated rankings of economics journals based on established and new methodologies, and use these rankings to document the spectacular rise of the new society journals in economics. We show that while several factors （editor reputations, editor experience, citations from parent journals and the number of articles published） help determine these journals’ impact factors, none help explain why the new journals outperform natural comparison journals. However, soliciting top authors connected to the editors can explain their outperformance. We also consider factors such as fast turnaround times, the transfer of referee reports and associations leveraging their reputations. 

本研究系统考察了经济学领域七本新创学会期刊（包括American Economic Association的四本AEJ系列，Econometric Society旗下TE和QE，European Economic Association创办的JEEA）的学术影响力形成机制。该研究不仅贡献于期刊评价文献，更对学会创办新刊的策略具有实践指导价值。

首先，通过Invariant Method和基于经济学五大顶尖期刊（AER、ECMA、JPE、QJE、RES）引用数据的排名算法，研究发现新期刊在创刊初期即超越传统期刊。进一步回归分析表明：传统解释变量（如年发文量、编委资历）虽具统计显著性，但无法完全解释“新期刊效应”；其次，学术协会基于其声誉形成了自我实现预言（Reputation-based Self-fulfilling Prophecy）；最后，新期刊编委通过学术网络（Academic Connection）触发顶尖学者的羊群效应（Herding Effect），为自我实现预言提供了初始条件。

本研究的主要贡献体现在三个方面：在方法论层面，提出了基于五大顶尖期刊（AER、ECMA、JPE、QJE、RES）引用数据的排序方法，为期刊评价提供了新的技术路径；在实证层面，首次系统分析了新创学会期刊的影响力形成机制，揭示了自我实现预言效应在学术出版领域的作用机制；在应用层面，首次对AER: Insights等新刊进行排名，并将独立后的AEA Papers and Proceedings与AER区分处理，为学界提供了更精确的期刊评价基准。

 

叶梓秋，对外经济贸易大学国际经济贸易学院助理教授，本硕博均毕业于新加坡国立大学。其主要研究领域包括数字经济、产业组织、管理经济学以及运营管理与市场营销交叉研究。其学术成果发表在The Economic Journal，European Journal of Operational Research等国际权威学术期刊。
